We don't collect your data.
Vokabel itself collects nothing. The only third party is optional: Google's ads, and only if you choose to watch one.
No account. No sign-up. No email required.
No analytics SDK. No crash reporting. No servers of our own — there is nowhere for your data to go.
Everything you learn lives on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes everything. Reminder times, widgets and Siri shortcuts are worked out on your device too.
Purchases and subscriptions run through Apple. We never see your payment details — the app is told only whether a purchase is active, and that check happens on your device.
Speaking practice uses the microphone only while Vokabel is listening for your answer — a few seconds after you tap the mic, or after each card during a Speaking lesson you start — and recognition runs entirely on your device with Apple’s on-device speech engine. No audio is recorded, stored or uploaded — if your device can’t recognise German offline, the feature simply says so rather than sending anything to a server. (The first time you use speaking practice, iOS shows its own generic notice about speech data being sent to Apple; that notice covers apps that use Apple’s servers. Vokabel requests on-device recognition only.)
Optional ads (free version only). Free learners can choose to watch a short ad — for an extra life, double XP or one more lesson. Those ads come from Google AdMob, and its software (the Google Mobile Ads SDK) isn't even started until you tap “Watch an ad”. When it runs, Google may process your device's advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking when iOS asks), an approximate location derived from your IP address, and ad interaction and diagnostic data, to show ads and measure them. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you're asked for consent first, and you can change your choice any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices. How Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Vokabel Plus has no ads. For Plus members the ad software never runs, no tracking prompt appears and nothing is sent to Google.
Leagues (optional). If you join a league, Apple Game Center shows your Game Center nickname and weekly XP to other players on the weekly leaderboard. If you don't join, nothing is sent.
